About Me

Who am I?

Hello!  My name is Erica Johnson.  I am a teacher in the rural community of Vilonia, Arkansas in the United States.  I have worked as a teacher for eight years in both the public school and charter school systems here in Arkansas.  I have an English, MA and an English Education, BSE from the University of Central Arkansas.  While I have taught a variety of classes in the past eight years, currently I am teaching AP English Language, English 12, and College English/Composition.

When I am not teaching, I like to spend time with my family and my dog.  I also enjoy cooking, baking, and reading (preferably with my book club).

What do I blog about?

This is my first time blogging, so this is a bit of an experiment.  As of right now, this blog will mainly focus on my experiences in the classroom.  I want to capture what I learn with my students, my thoughts about classroom matters, and reflecting on how my teaching has changed over the years (especially with influences like the National Writing Project and Teaching Shakespeare Institute).  In addition, this blog will also contain writing I have done with my students as a means of accountability and showing off what I am writing alongside them.
